Ghanaian rapper ZyGee is set to release his latest single, “TIME,” on Saturday, September 12, 2026, adding another chapter to a musical journey that has taken him from Anloga in Ghana’s Volta Region to a growing audience beyond the region.
Born Martin Ocloo, ZyGee is a Ghanaian hip-hop/Afrobeats artiste from Anloga in the Volta Region. His music is largely rooted in the Ewe language, while also incorporating English, Twi and Pidgin. His songs are often characterised by introspective themes, personal experiences and messages drawn from his environment and community.
ZyGee’s musical journey dates back several years. He initially developed an interest in playing drums before moving into songwriting and rap during his school years. His early work in the Volta music scene helped establish his name, with his first EP, “Nawoanya,” released in 2017. The project earned him further recognition in the region and contributed to his Discovery of the Year win at the 2018 Volta Music Awards.
He followed up with his second EP, “Korba,” in 2020. The project featured songs including “Poor No Friend (P.N.F.)” and “Make I Blow,” both released on September 1, 2020.
Over the years, ZyGee has continued to release music across different styles. His catalogue includes songs such as “Dagbe Neva,” released in August 2022, “Gbloe Faa (Let Them Say)” in 2023 and “Young Black Boy” in 2024.
More recently, ZyGee released his “Just Believe” EP in January 2025, a five-track Afrobeats project. He also followed it with releases including “Tornam” in July 2025 and “Ega (Money)” in September 2025.
His 2026 releases have continued to show his willingness to explore different sounds. Among them is “Nunake (Till Dawn)” featuring Morgan Nero, released on June 22, 2026.
Now comes “TIME”
ZyGee is now preparing to introduce “TIME,” his latest release, on September 12, 2026.
The cover artwork presents the rapper seated in the middle of a long road surrounded by mountains and a scenic landscape, while the large “TIME” title dominates the artwork. The visual imagery naturally complements the song’s title, suggesting themes of life’s journey, patience, growth and the passage of time.
The song is produced by Chillin OTB, according to the official artwork released ahead of the single.
With a catalogue that stretches from the “Nawoanya” era to “Korba,” “Dagbe Neva,” “Just Believe,” “Tornam,” “Ega (Money)” and his recent 2026 releases, “TIME” arrives as another opportunity for ZyGee to demonstrate his evolution as an artiste.
